Answer: Space and Culture Simon J. Charlesworth, 2009: The Space of Appearances: The Constitution of the Public Realm. Space and Culture, vol. 12, no. 2, pp. 263 281 Introduction The article mainly relates to the Personnel involved in the job center and various associated agencies which are related to the Yorkshire. For assuming the data and to analyze it completely, the data is not collected on the basis of the sociological aspects like gender, standards and the standard of living they possess, rather it is collected by making the practical approaches towards the data and the process. The data is collected by conducting the surveys and making the suitable reports related to the requirement of the article. This article mainly focuses on the aspect, thats how the process related to the public institutions, public life and the working aspects can coordinate with the daily life. The space of appearance is the aspect which mainly shows the space between the people. (Charlesworth, 2009) Critical Evaluation The article reflects the various concepts and approaches, to define the space of appearance in the particular article. By taking the help from these concepts, will try to define a unique aspect related to the actual article. The above introduction reveals that the space of appearance values a lot. Because of the presence of the individual identity, the value will also be mediated. One of the strength which can be highlighted in the article is the aspect which shows that every person possess their specific identity at the working places or the places like the seminars, interviews and many more. To show the appearance of the individual identity is also considered as the important scenario. The other positive aspect is the symbolic capital, which mainly shows the space of the appearance as the sense of the visibilities. The main topic depicts the public spaces, and this topic supports the main topic in defining the institutional spaces along with the individual identity and recognition of the person in the public spaces. With respect to the positive aspects, there are negative aspects too which are present. To define this article thoroughly in reference to the public space, the other things may also be covered which strengthen the arguments defined in the article. The real situation defined by the student in the article shows the negative aspects. The student defines, that while considering the institutional spaces in class, there are mainly two groups from which one belongs to the White student and one belongs to the black student. To manage the public space, the black students always try to communicate with the other students, but the white students generally doesnt coordinate and try to manage the situation which shows the negative aspect of the article. The more supportive and positive arguments should be defined here, so that the topic becomes more stable and accurate. Redefining the boundaries between Private and Public Space Joan Abbott Chapman and Margret Robertson, Space and Culture, 12 (4) 419-434: The Authors 2009: Adolescents Favorite Places: Redefining the boundaries between Private and Public Space. DOI 1177/1206331209348091. Introduction This article mainly defines the boundaries between the private and the public Space. In this article, the main focus will be drawn on the liking and disliking of the youth regarding the places. The article analyzes by considering the location Tasmania in Australia. Through this article, the private and the public space, and the gap between both of them is analyzed. The analysis also combines the ethnographic and Quantitative methods to explore the meaning of the public and private spaces. The words like the inside and the outside, the local me and global me generally used to define the adolescents places to visit and by this, the evaluation of their likes and dislikes can also be identified. The article is designed by considering different types of literature, journals and articles. There are total 4 journals and articles defined in this article, which provides the actual information about the topic. This article is important, because it draws an attention towards the selected topic which is the public space, and also clears the choices of the youth regarding this aspect. The diagrammatic presentation and the four surveys are also highlighted through the literature review. (Chapman Margret Robertson, 2009) Critical Analysis The theme of the article is mainly related to the adolescents and the youth people. They generally want to visit the places, which are liked by them and also spend their leisure hours there. This article also successfully defines the inside public and private aspects related to the youth. The researcher also provides the concept in reference to the inside and the outside perspectives. The public space is selected as the topic and this article also highlights the different aspects related to the private and public spaces. The article is not only helpful in assuming the favorite places of the teenagers and adolescent, but by this, the helpful environmental knowledge may also be identified. The article is the blend of the four studies and on the basis of those studies, the suitable diagram and graphs are prepared. In this article, there are various strengths defined which supports the topic public space. This article is successful in showing the thorough analysis of the most likely places supported by the youths and what they want to do in their leisure hours to spend their quality time. The studies in the articles focus that the most admired places liked by the youths are generally helpful in boosting up their morale and also provides them enthusiastic working approach. The article is also helpful in showing the suitable relationship between the youths and the places liked by them. The places may be the home, the areas near the home or the environment supporting places. The youth can enjoy with the friends, family and alone also. The relevance of this article will be that this article connects with the title public space directly. According to Goffman, the area where the youth wants to spend their time is also known as the Backstage region. With the strength, the article also possesses some weakness. Though the article mention that the youth tries to search for the private space for them and want to feel relaxed, but sometimes they are not successful at searching the mental peace and avoiding the work pressure. If the demographic and the psychographic aspects related to the Tasmania in contrast to the youth would be mentioned, then it becomes easier to correlate the youth with the relations deeply. Keep Cyprus Clean: Littering, Pollution and otherness Vassos Argyrou, Source: Cultural Anthropology12; No 2 (May 1997), 159-178;Keep Cyprus clean: Littering, Pollution and Otherness: Published Wiley on Behalf of the American Anthropological Association. Introduction The article is mainly related to the field area of the Cyprus. This article is selected to define the anti-social or anti-litter behavior against littering in Cyprus. The article also supports the selected title Public space. To secure the environment and to make the environment free from the litters, it is essential that the policies and the agendas are also designed for the people. This not only secures the local people, but this step also boosts up the mode of the tourism in the Cyprus. In the article, it is also mentioned that litter is considered as the public issue and to stop the littering, the country also put the boards and tags on the roads against anti littering in the country. The article majorly covers small incidences and sections to define the concept of the littering in the Cyprus. By adapting the strategies, the people belonging to Cyprus want to establish their unique identity in the world and also want to make the environment pollution free. (Argyrou, 1997) Critical Analysis The Cyprus is the city which mainly consists of the villagers and possess the backward lifestyle approaches. One of the strengths which the campaign possesses is the establishment of the social and cultural values among the people. The local people try to establish the more unique identity and coordination in reference to the relationship. The campaign, which is defined in the city, is also combining the people of different social and economic status. For this aspect, the bishop in the article also explains that the anti-littering campaign may also be helpful in abolishing the differentiation between the rich and the poor. The localities always tries to work in the proper coordination. The Moustache Versus the butter boy, the rich versus the poor, and the bishop versus the drug addicted, the normal woman versus the Whore, all these examples depicts the moral excellence versus the decadence. These lines originated from the provided articles depict that the problems and issues related to littering in Cyprus play the major role in social and cultural activities of the people residing there and for the visitors or the outsiders also. The negative aspect of the article will be the rural background of the Cyprus hindering the growth aspects of the city. In the article, various aspects are also defined which highlights the issues related to the city. During the tenure of the Britishers in the Cyprus, the strategy of Colonolism is generally followed and due to that, the Cyproits villagers not able to expose the anti-littering campaign in the city. Because of less education and backward background, they were not able to expose the aspects clearly. Another negative aspect will be related to the process that the anti-littering campaign is not successful in convincing the people appropriately due to the lack of an appropriate base. Telescopic Urbanism and the Poor Ash Amin, 2013: Telescopic Urbanism and the Poor: The Forthcoming City (2013): Volume 17, Issue 4, 2013: DOI10.1080/13604813.2013.812350 Introduction The purpose of the article is to define the actual condition of the world in the year 2030. The article also possesses the direct link with the actual topic which is named as the Public Space. It is declared by the UN habitat in the 2003 that the coming generations or the society has to face the sufferings from the multiple deprivations and needs to survive in the slum like conditions in the cities of the world. This article possesses the similarity with the actual topic, i.e. Public Space because through this topic, the future predictions for the poor people in contrast to the rich people is identified. While defining the future scenario, the competitiveness and business growth in reference to the human potential are also discussed. There are various aspects, which are defined in the article to show the actual theme of the article. (Amin, 2013) Critical Analysis As all the articles possess some negative and positive aspects, so this article also possesses the same. Through this article, the positive aspect is related to the predictions for the future. By considering the current scenario and observing the ongoing aspects, it becomes easier to identify the status of the poor people and rich ones in the coming future. The article also becomes successful in defining the political aspects related to the Urbanism in the UN in coming future. The main strength of the article will be the assumptions and predictions which are mainly predicated on the basis of the current scenario. These scenarios may also be result oriented. If the negative perspectives of the article will be defined, then according to that, the solutions to diminish the situations are not defined properly. Though, there are some solutions like interference of politics, allotment of the proper shelters and the services, and increasing the living standards of the slum people are the commonest one. But, only applying these solutions is not enough to eliminate the problem of the society and the world class cities. Conclusion The Conclusion is defined on the basis of the Meta -Analysis. The purpose of this analysis is to correlate the actual topics with the different types of annotated bibliography. All the articles are combined to define the actual topic, which is related to the Public Space. In the first article, which Arendt spoke about public spaces as a space of appearances made between the people through instantiations of sense that mediate the presence. The presence is mediated by the values. By showing this aspect, the author wants to show that the space of appearance may also relate to the constitutional realm, which provides the individual identity for every person. In continuation with the first annotated bibliography, the second annotated bibliography depicted the boundaries between the public and the private spaces. This article also shows the relevance to the actual topic, which is the public space. To explore the public spaces, the article provides the relevant information about the adolescent and the spaces used by them. Both the first and the second article shows the different aspects related to the public space, but they are similar because the purpose of both the articles is same which is to define the Public space. Following both the above articles, the third and fourth articles are related to make the city hygienic and clean which directly emphasizes the main issue related to the public space. The third article provides the strong platform for the title (i.e. Public Space) and also strengthens it by providing the different logics and the criteria. The initiative towards the environment can only be possible, when the coordinated working strategy by the villagers of Cyprus can be adapted. DHIATIRITE TIN KIPRO KATHARI (KEEP CYPRUS CLEAN), these are the lines which are clearly defined on the roads and the directions of the road to explore the message of cleanliness among people. Finally the fourth article initiates, the methods to make the city slum free by providing the poor people with the suitable shelters and also provide them with the privilege to live a better life. One of the lines which are mentioned in the article shows that to clear the slums, put the poors to the faraway places. Reclaim the streets are the only solution by which the suitable facilities can be allotted to the poor people. The combination of all these four articles will be helpful in providing the aspect for the Public Space. Bibliography Amin, A., 2013. Telescopic Urbanism and the Poor: The Forthcoming City.
